Isaac's
Bay, St. Croix
Isaac's Bay, located on the East
End of St Croix, Virgin Islands, is worth the hike to get to it! It is most easily reached by driving
past the ruins of the old Grapetree Hotel to the end of the road and
walking down. The fastest way to
get to the beach is to go to Point Udall, and hike down from the trail
that starts just before the Millennium Monument . This drops you into
East End Bay, and then you have to hike up and over the knob to Isaac
Bay. It's probably a good 15-20 minute hike to Isaac this way.
The snorkeling and swimming is
superb here! Be sure to leave nothing
but footprints after your visit. The point Udall monument and the road by the
old Grapetree hotel are relatively remote...do not leave valuables in your
vehicle when hiking down any of the trails. We also suggest leaving your car
unlocked so there is no reason for anyone to do any damage trying to "break in".
